Ex-Hinesville Housing Authority director, contractor indicted in $2.5 million wire fraud scheme

Former Hinesville Housing Authority executive director Melanie S. Thompson and unlicensed contractor Toriono L. Byrd have been indicted in federal court for allegedly defrauding the authority of $2.5 million through a series of fraudulent contracts and kickbacks.
